Compte de Chambord
– 1863. A Portland Damask with large
full blooms packed with petals of warm pink. Repeats well, strong fragrance.
Fairly continuous flowering. 3ft by 2ft.

Duchess of
Portland - 'The Portland Rose'
-
1790. A
spectacular sight en masse. Clear red with conspicuous golden anthers.
Repeat flowering. Good in a container. 3ft by 2ft.
Ispahan
– pre 1832. Clear pink fragrant double
flowers over a long period. Scrolled in the bud but opening quartered and
later reflexing to show a green button eye. Summer flowering. 5ft by 4ft.
Jacques Cartier
–
1868. An excellent repeat flowering Portland
Damask. Deep pink full blooms with a button eye and a wonderful fragrance. A
compact well foliated plant. Repeat flowering. 3ft
by 2ft.

Mme. Hardy
– 1832. Pure white cupped flowers
crammed with petals and having a green button eye, Large shrub with light
green foliage. An excellent variety. Summer flowering. 6ft by 5ft.

Rose de Rescht –
Said to have been discovered in an
old Persian garden and brought back by Miss Nancy Lindsay. A good shorter
Portland rose with fully double ruby red blooms with purple tints and a
button eye. Strong fragrance. Repeat flowering. 3ft by 3ft.
