Autumn Fire - 1961. Clusters of large, semi - double dark red fragrant flowers which repeat in the Autumn. Very large elongated pears shaped bright orange - red hips. 6ft by 4ft.

Ballerina - 1937. An outstanding rose with many uses from bedding to growing in pots. Huge sprays of small single pink flowers each with a white centre. Attractive to bees. Continuous flowering 4ft by 3ft.

Cinderella - 2003. Large fully double soft pink apple scented flowers adorn this recurrent flowering shrub. 4ft by 4ft.

Grouse - 1982. Low - growing and spreading vigorous rose. White flowers with pink blushes. Lovely perfume. Glossy healthy foliage. Wind tolerant. 2ft high by 10ft spread.

Jacqueline Du Pres - 1989. Large ivory white almost single rose with prominent golden red stamens and a good musk scent. Abundant dark green foliage. Repeat flowering. 6ft by 5ft.

Nevada – 1927. A stunning sight in early summer. Masses of big cream flowers with yellow stamens, some repeat flowering. Makes a good hedge. 7ft by 6ft. I saw  a spectacular hedge of this when visiting  the Jill Dando Memorial garden in Weston-Super-Mare.

Nozomi - 1968. A dense spreading shrub bearing small single star like flowers of pearly pink in small trusses with arching plum coloured young stems. 3ft high by 6ft spread - good as ground cover or in a container.

The Fairy – 1932. Clusters of bead like buds open to globular pink flowers which are most effective en mass. Flowers continuously throughout summer. Looks good in a container. 2ft by 3ft.

Bonica – 1982. Soft pink semi double blooms on a vigorous bushy plant with dark healthy foliage. 3ft by 4ft.

Fritz Nobis – 1940. A healthy vigorous shrub with semi double light salmon pink clove scented flowers. Autumn hips. Will tolerate shade. 5ft by 4ft.

Marguerite Hilling - 1959. An excellent pink sport of Nevada (see above) which it resembles in all respects except colour.

Scharlachglut - 1952. An established specimen of this rose is amazing. Very large single flowers of a clear bright velvety red with pronounced golden stamens. Scented. Large urn shaped bright orange hips. Will either make a solid free standing shrub or is good climbing into small trees or on trellises. 10ft by 6ft.

Surrey - 1988. A wide spreading shrub with huge quantities of fragrant soft pink double blooms throughout the seasons. Very healthy, continuous flowering. Good for a container or as a ground cover rose. 2ft high by 4ft spread.

Westerland - 1969. Bright apricot loosely double orange myrrh scented flowers. Good glossy foliage. Continuous flowering. Can be used as a small climber or as a shrub. Shade tolerant. 4ft by 3ft.

White Wings - 1947. long pointed buds open to large single pure white flowers with dark crimson stamens. suitable for a container. Scented. Continuous flowering. 3ft 6ins by 3ft 6ins.
